In The Waiting
Waiting on the Lord…… Isaiah 40:31-1 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
What do we do while we’re waiting?
- Understand there is a season for everything and rejoice in THIS season. This is not forever.
A Time for Everything - Ecclesiastes 3
3 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
2. Understand that the Lord is working on your behalf
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
3. STOP. COMPARING. YOUR. STORY. TO. SOMEONE. ELSES. STORY.
As Christians especially, it can be so easy to look at the person next to you and wonder why they got the thing you wanted, why are things easier for them, what is wrong with me? They don’t even serve You God… why do they have everything I want?
Instead of being bitter that someone else has what you want, rejoice in their victories. Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn.
4. Trust His promises and understand His timing is different, and far better, than our own.
But honestly… I know sometimes the “Christianese” isn’t helpful. Sometimes you just wish everyone would stop giving you advice and start giving you hugs. I know sometimes when you’re in the valley it’s hard to even imagine what the top of the mountain looks like… but it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. God is a perfect father that doesn’t set His kids up for disappointment. He doesn’t give you desires so deep to just sit back and laugh when you’re struggling. The enemy will try everything to convince you that God is not for you, that He doesn’t love you, and that better days will never come… The devil is a LIAR. Dig in the word, remind yourself what your Daddy says… THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
